Refund policy, disclaimers, and terms.

NameVerdict is an automated screening tool. The data we surface (domain registry records, USPTO TM records, third-party search results, social-handle availability) is real, but the synthesized verdict is generated by software and is not legal advice. Before adopting a name commercially, especially if our verdict is YELLOW or RED, consult a registered trademark attorney for a full knock-out search and freedom-to-operate opinion.

We do our best to keep upstream data current, but we don't control USPTO TESS, RDAP registries, third-party sites, or social platforms. Reports may miss recent changes or contain false positives where a third party serves identical responses for both registered and unregistered names. We don't guarantee completeness or absence of error.

Refund policy

We offer a full refund before you view the report. Once you load the report URL, the refund window closes and the purchase is final. This is enforced automatically — we record the first view event in our audit log and a refund request after that point goes through Stripe's standard dispute process rather than our self-serve refund path.

We made this call because the product is digital and instantly verifiable: if a verdict is wrong or a lane failed to run, you'll see it on the first load and we'll refund. If you load the report, screenshot it, and ask for a refund the next day, we can't tell that situation apart from someone who got the answer they wanted and changed their mind. The trade is unambiguity for buyer flexibility.

Privacy

We store your purchase email, the candidate names you submitted, your product description, and the generated report. We don't sell or share this data. We use Stripe for payments (subject to Stripe's privacy policy) and Resend for transactional email.

Report URLs are unguessable (10-character base62 slugs, ~1017 keyspace) and pages are tagged noindex,nofollow so they don't appear in Google. Anyone with the slug can view the report — share the URL only with people you'd show the candidate-name list to.

Terms

  • By purchasing a report you agree that the verdict is for your informational use and is not legal advice.
  • You retain all rights to your candidate names and product description; we don't use them for anything beyond generating your report.
  • We reserve the right to refuse service for clearly abusive use (e.g. a name list that is solely the trademarks of identifiable competitors).
  • Service is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind beyond those required by law.
